SETx Riders get crunk at the third stop of the TWS hosted in Beaumont. Locals like Mike Newby, Jeremy Hebert & Lance Stevens all took a podium spot after it was all said & done. Congrats to those guys and to everyone who enjoyed this Empire Wake event. Here's a few photos:
*Big-UPS to Casey Hobson from Houston, TX for takin' home the top prize in the pro division! Hobson nearly capped off a stand-up run with a toeside off-axis 720. Just missing the handle, the 7 was the only trick that gave him trouble, but not before linking together a whirlybird, ts oa 540 & a KGB in order to secure the win. More photos & information will be posted as it becomes available... Special thanks to E.Jay Miranda over at Red Bull North America for providing several stellar images!

(6.28.2010) 2010 SETx Mid-Summer Classic was INCREDIBLE
SETx Wakeboarding proves once again that the Mid-Summer Classic is a top-tier grassroots event. From the Friday night Pre-Party in Downtown Beaumont to the exceptional weather conditions on Saturday, each of our 66 competitors and over 500 spectators thoroughly enjoyed our private lake for the weekend.
Darryl Moore's Marine provided the Malibu Boats which kicked up quality wakes for each division. Wetsounds hooked up the Mid-Summer Classic with some heavy acoustics and an overall killer vibe. It was crazy to see it all come together and we definitely wouldn't have been able to do it without these guys. Much props to our 2010 partners. We appreciate it!
Among the swimmin', grillin', sun-tannin' & chillin' the RIDIN' at the Mid-Summer Classic was the best we've ever seen. From the lil rippers in the Novice division, all the way to the semi-pro Outlaws, we definitely saw an increase in the skill level at this years event. On more than one occasion, our SETx judges found themselves in a pickle trying to place the top 3 riders in their respective divisions. Although outcomes could have possibly went a few different directions, these are the results:
- From Beaumont, exit Bonner Turnaround, U-turn and look for signs... it's on the right, past Jordan's Marine.
- From Lake Charles, exit Bonner Turnaround and look for signs.
- *Off the Ih-10 feeder road (headed West-bound), take a right on our dirt road and follow back to the 2nd lake on the left. See you there, thanks! (1500 Freeway Boulevard: Vidor, TX 77662)

(5.7.2010): News Update
Flooding in Tennessee makes for interesting report...
"The fun police bust a guy wakeboarding on top of what was once a productive Nashville business district. (03:53)"
*This is great. The report that is... Mr. Colbert's (AKA the WAKE MONSTER) impression of a "gnarly-wakeboarder-brah" is surprisingly spot-ON. The news should definitely be a lil more like this. LOL SHAKA BRAH!
"When life gives you lemons you gotta ride that lemonade bro! 'Cause it's so tasty!"
3.15.2010: Wake-Season 2010 OFFICIALLY Starts!
Okay, time to dust-the-rust off those boards people... we got some ridin' to do! Daylight Savings Time came in with a bang yesterday and the SETx crew took full advantage of the extra sunshine served up by Miss Mother Nature. Sunday turned out to be an unbelievable start to Springtime 2010.
The water temps were cruising at a refreshing 65 degrees and combined with no wind and plenty of rays, a wakeboarder couldn't ask for much more on the first official day of the season. The water was flat and the wakes were big. Everyone took a rail set first then slayshed the wake into the evening.
It always seems like riders are especially hungry at the beginning of the season so they can start gaining ground on those new tricks they want to add to the quiver. So far, 2010 looks like it's going to be a progressive season with everyone coming out the box better than where they left off in 2009. Stay tuned for more details on the ins & outs of SETx Wakeboarding's Season 2010!
(4.28.2010): Event Update
SETx Rider Eric Deegan placed 4th in the Corpus Christi Pro this past weekend at the Texas International Boat Show! Edged out by Tom Fooshee, Gabe Lucas & Austin Hair respectively, Deegan did a good job securing his portion of the $15,000 prize purse.
Stay tuned for updates on how Eric rides at Wake Games in Orlando, FL this weekend...
(4.10.2010):The 2010 Collegiate Team Challenge
This years CTCwent off without a hitch thanks to the University of North Texas, Empire Wake and all the competing schools & sponsors who showed up and made it happen. Tents were parked EVERYWHERE at SETx this past weekend! With mid-night temperatures dipping into the mid 50s and nearly zero humity during the day, the sunshine & 75 degree water were tailor-made for camping & wakeboarding. There was an estimated 250 young people who showed up from out of town as well as locally to watch & compete in the event.
