(August 28, 2010): Texas Wake Series Stop #3 @ SETX
The Philosophy... The Texas Wake Series is founded on the idea of "by
riders, for riders."
Every decision we make is with the best intentions of making the riders
as happy as we can.
Empire Wake is dedicated to helping riders grow and progress to what
ever level they desire. For the novice,
it may be your first event and you are looking to improve your contest
riding. For the riders
that want to become pro level, we help obtain sponsors, get exposure and
write articles about you.
We believe that the Series is like a family, and we take care of
everyone as such. There are kids at the events,
and they need positive roll models. You won't see drunk people, or
swearing from our staff.
You will see our pros helping the beginners, and hanging out with them.
We also prove a way to bring everyone
together, like camping or an after party.
There are so many riders from so many areas that we want to have a
place to meet and get to know each other.
You can see this attitude all the way from the spectator to the
founders.
Texas Wake Series also believes each individual event is a local
grassroots event. There will always be a
local marina and board shop as the host. We make sure local riders are
involved.
All we do is bring our philosophy, man power, sponsors, loyal riders
and reputation.
You can choose to ride one event, or as many as you would like. We just
love seeing new faces, and new riders.
It truly is a great scene.

Hotels & Accomodations:
We have (2) great hotel options that are close to the lake:
(1)

(2)
America's Best Value Inn (approx. $56/night), 2525 N. 11th Street Beaumont, Tx 77703 call: (409) 924.7300. *Make sure you tell the hotel management that you're with "SETx Wakeboarding."
*If you have an RV and need hook-ups then you can contact
Boomtown USA (5 minutes from SETx) and they can get you set-up with a nice water-front spot on the Boomtown lake. They have waterfront cabins for rent as well!
**The Neches River & Boomtown are both less than 15 minutes from SETx. They both accommodate wakeboard boats very nicely.
Location & Detailed Directions to the SETx Lake:
SETx is off-the-beaten path so to speak. We don't have a registered
address (YET) so we're not exactly "GPS friendly." (We're workin' on
that but in the meantime...) Rose City Sand is
the closest location to SETx so here is their address:
1500 Freeway Boulevard
Vidor, TX 77662
The SETx lake is about 1/2 mile off of Ih-10 westbound, (behind Rose
City Sand.) Use the address listed above and you'll be in the ball-park
for sure!
From Lake
Charles you'll take the #859 exit. Once on the access road you'll see a
sign on the right for Rose City Sand. You should see a small SETx sign
as well, this is where you turn RIGHT onto a gravel/dirt road. Follow
that road about 1/2 mile and we're the 2nd lake on the LEFT. You'll
enter through a red metal gate and you're there!
From Houston, you'll take the #860 exit for "Bonner Turnaround". Once
on the access road, take your first available U-TURN. Once on the
access road (headed westbound) you'll see a sign on the right for Rose
City
Sand. You should see a small SETx sign as well, this is where you turn
RIGHT onto a gravel/dirt road. Follow that road about 1/2 mile and
we're the 2nd lake on the LEFT. You'll enter through a red metal gate
and you're there!
